- Help with the machines on the other end, too
The fixes that solve most problems.
The other machine shows "offline"
It's switched off, asleep, or lost its network. For machines you need around the clock, turn off sleep and make sure Maxdesk was installed, not just run.
I can see the screen but can't control it
On a Mac, Maxdesk needs Accessibility permission on the far machine: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
The screen is black on Linux
The far machine is on a Wayland session. Log out and choose an X11 (Xorg) session at the login screen.
It asks me for a server
Your client isn't pointed at Maxdesk yet. The settings are on the Download page, or reinstall from there.
When it won't connect, you can call a person.
Every other tool in this category answers that with a forum link. Maxdesk is run by an IT and ERP shop that has spent years keeping other people's machines working. Support is a product here, not a deflection.
